Founder Story
A Company built on Foresight and purpose
Airtours Holidays was founded by Mr Mafat Patel — a man who built a community with his efforts and then identified multiple services for the same community that helped him thrive.
Born in a small village in India, Mr Patel came to the United States in 1968 merely with steadfast determination and a clear sense of purpose. He earned his degree, built a life from the ground up, and went on to establish Patel Brothers – today, the largest Indian grocery chain in the United States.
Even as he flourished, he found ways to apply his hard-earned skills by maintaining an ear to the ground. An Engineer who founded a grocery chain and later began offering travel related services.
He had seen firsthand how transformative a well-planned holiday could be — and how tedious a task it was for people of Indian-origin – people like himself – and the countless NRIs who had moved to the United States and called it home. That experience became a vision – to offer his patrons holiday services – something as simple as picking apples and potatoes in the supermarket ‘fresh produce’ aisle. And so the story goes… Airtours Holidays is now one of the most sought after travel companies in the United States; a company built on the belief that a holiday or a tour should be simple and accessible to everyone.
